Choosing Safe Toys For your kids

Cam Cam Copenhagen
Every time I hear that there is another toy recall, I believe to myself - you have to be kidding! How do these dangerous toys even get to the shelves and within reach of our curious children in the first place? Did the makers understand that these were potentially harmful? Are there qc measures to make sure this doesn't happen?

Personally, i know a sweet lady who is a parent of three little girls. When I was visiting with her eventually, I noticed pictures of just a little boy around the walls and asked who it was. She explained it had been her son who'd died at three when a toy got stuck in the throat. His father had tried desperately to remove the lodged toy, but his attempts were fruitless, and also the child succumbed. I was horrified and can only imagine how much they both suffered from this sad experience.

It is not easy to watch our kids every minute, but we can make every attempt to remove any toys that could do harm from those that they have fun with every day. Your kids also may receive toys as presents from well-meaning family members and friends for birthdays and holidays. How will you be sure that the toys you've in your house are secure for your children?

Another suggestion would be to pay attention to age recommendations on toys. They are put on the packages for any reason. It may seem your son or daughter now has wrinkles enough to experience with a toy that's made for an older child, but toys with small or removable parts may cause injuries or asphyxiation. Some older kids also still prefer to put things in their nose, ears and mouths, so you are the most useful judge to know what is appropriate on their behalf.

If a toy is broken, it is advisable to dispose of it immediately. Be familiar with what's inside your toy box. If tiny or broken pieces of toys are present, clean them out.

If your little one receives a toy like a present or you have obtained one which they wanted, you should try difficult to break it (do not do it in front of the child, however). If you can yank around the stuffed animals eyes and they're loose, they could appear and obtain lodged within the child's throat. Attempt to consider ways that your son or daughter may use it and test to see if the toy will fall apart. You may also test all toy gifts ever since they were not given using the intention to harm the kid. It is better to be safe than sorry.
